The Amani School

Provides Christ-centered education and community transformation among the Digo community in coastal Tanzania.

Reaching the unreached through education

Founded in 2008 by the Africa Inland Church of Tanzania in partnership with Africa Inland Mission, Amani School was established to serve the Digo people—an unreached ethnic group in coastal Tanzania facing poverty, limited access to education, and deep spiritual need. Beginning with a single kindergarten class, the school has grown steadily to serve children from pre-primary through secondary levels, offering high-quality education that bridges the learning gap between rural and urban communities.

Located in the village of Pande, Amani School is widely respected for its academic excellence, character formation, and commitment to holistic transformation, engaging not only students but also families and the wider community.

Our Partnership

Amani School nurtures children through Christ-centred education in a predominantly Muslim context. Hope Story comes alongside it to support this holistic ministry. From pre-primary through secondary school, students receive strong academic instruction taught in English to prepare them for national exams. They also have daily devotionals, Bible studies, and programs that introduce Christian values and the message of the Gospel in age-appropriate, respectful ways.

Students receive nutritious meals that support healthy development and improved learning outcomes, while sports, recreation, and counselling help address social exclusion, mental health challenges, and trauma common in rural communities. Teachers play a central role as mentors, modelling Christian character, providing vocational skills training, and conducting home visits that strengthen relationships with families.

Through agricultural training, poultry programs, youth camps, and family seminars, the ministry equips families with practical skills, strengthens livelihoods, and builds resilience. By partnering closely with parents, community leaders, and local churches, Amani opens pathways for children and youth to grow into confident leaders.

It has been my pleasure to partner with Hope Story over the last few years to contribute to this exceptional organization. We’ve worked together to develop international events for our company with the proceeds supporting vulnerable children. We are proud of the work Hope Story does and look forward to many years of partnership ahead.
