Helping vulnerable children orphaned by HIV/AIDS thrive in safe, nurturing family and community settings.

Founded in 2007 by the Africa Inland Church (AIC) in response to the HIV/AIDS crisis, Creation of Hope began by supporting street children in Kikima, Makueni County. Over time, it expanded to include a children’s home while also reaching families in the surrounding community. Today, the ministry is transitioning from institutional care to family- and community-based support, while also empowering individuals especially women through sustainable livelihoods projects like poultry farming.
Creation of Hope provides holistic care for children both in residence and within their communities, addressing their physical, educational, emotional, and spiritual needs. Hope Story comes alongside them to ensure children receive consistent access to education, vocational training, daily meals, medical care, and psychosocial support. Structured discipleship activities—including Sunday school, Bible study groups, catechism, and youth fellowship—nurture their faith, character, and resilience.
The ministry works closely with families and local churches to support smooth transitions from residential care to community-based family settings, in line with Kenya’s National Care Reform Strategy. Children reintegrated into their communities continue to receive support for schooling, healthcare, and emotional well-being, while social workers provide guidance and mentoring for both children and guardians.
Beyond child-focused care, Creation of Hope, with funding from the Government of Canada, empowers women through sustainable livelihoods, leadership training, and community development programs such as conservation agriculture and poultry farming. By strengthening families, local churches, and broader communities, the ministry creates an environment where children and their families can truly thrive.
