This inaugural event, themed "Self-Discovery for Self-Betterment", brought together students aged 13 to 20 from Amani School and neighboring institutions for a week filled with learning, growth, and fun.
The camp aimed to address the vulnerabilities faced by the youth in the Digo community of Tanga, who often struggle with various issues due to challenging circumstances and lack of engagement. The camp provided crucial lessons in self-awareness, relationships, academic excellence, career choices, money management, and faith, along with engaging activities like sports, games, and talent discovery.

The camp exceeded expectations, with 84 students attending, surpassing the initial target of 50-70. Among the attendees, 45 came from Christian backgrounds while 37 came from Muslim backgrounds reflecting a diverse and engaged group. Facilitators from Zanzibar, Mombasa, and Amani School staff ensured that the students were safe, well-fed, and enriched by the camp's activities.

The community's response underscored the camp's impact. Many students resolved to pursue higher education, maintain jobs, and honour their bodies as temples of the Holy Spirit.
The camp not only provided valuable life skills and knowledge but also encouraged a sense of unity and purpose among the youth. Its ability to address both practical and spiritual needs paves the way for continued engagement and support in the Digo community.
