The partnership traces its roots back to Lebanon’s history with Hope Story’s former identity as Kids Alive, which established a presence in Lebanon as early as the 1950s. Since then, True Vine Church, founded by Pastor Jihad in 2003, has grown from a small gathering of seven people meeting in an apartment into a thriving community of believers making a profound impact on both the local and refugee populations.

Originally an electrical engineer, Pastor Jihad transitioned to full-time ministry as the church expanded. Despite Lebanon’s complex political and economic challenges, he has remained steadfast in his calling. Amid the country’s struggles—ranging from economic collapse to political instability and the refugee crisis—True Vine Church has become a lifeline for many: both Syrian refugees who fled the ongoing conflict in their home country and Lebanese families burdened by economic instability. What began as a humble effort to provide food baskets has quickly evolved into a comprehensive outreach, including schools, medical centres, sports club, and home cell groups, all aimed at addressing both the physical and spiritual needs of those they serve.

Despite religious and cultural tensions, True Vine Church extends its support beyond Syrians, welcoming Lebanese Muslims, Kurds, and Christians alike. Through acts of compassion—providing food, housing, medical support, and education—the church has built relationships that transcend divisions, demonstrating the power of love in breaking down barriers and revealing the true image of Christ.
True Vine’s commitment is evident in its expanding outreach. The church is not only growing within the Bekaa Valley but is also reaching remote villages, bringing the love of Christ to more and more people. Its vision is clear: to shape history, not merely observe it. Even as some members feel the pull to leave Lebanon due to uncertainty, the church’s vibrant young people remain hopeful, passionate about serving the Lord and spreading His message.

Lebanon’s crisis has deepened poverty, with 80% of the population now living in hardship. Yet, True Vine Church has adapted its efforts to meet these growing needs, offering aid not just to refugees but also to struggling Lebanese nationals. The church’s renewed focus on prayer, faith, and service continues to shape Lebanon’s future. Despite the uncertainty, the church clings to hope, trusting that God is at work in the country. In a nation fraught with political and religious division, True Vine’s ministry stands as a living testament to the power of prayer, love, and service.
Prayer Requests:
- Pray that the church will continue to bear spiritual fruit in the Bekaa Valley and beyond, bringing light to places that desperately need the hope of Christ.
- Pray that young people in Lebanon will be strengthened in faith despite economic uncertainty; that they find hope and opportunities within their country rather than feeling pressured to leave.
- Praise God for the growing home cell groups and pray that more people will join and be discipled through them.
