As an organization that works with orphaned and vulnerable children, Hope Story requires that all Short Term Volunteers serving at its sites obtain police clearance through a Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC). Please note the following: Applications will not be considered unless a PVSC is completed and submitted to Hope Story. A PVSC can be requested in person at the local Police Service in the community where the applicant resides. Cost is the responsibility of the individual or team, and may be reduced by producing a letter of request from the team’s church, or from Hope Story. Please be advised that applicants whose name or date of birth resemble that of an offender on the list may be required to submit to fingerprinting at an additional cost. Applicants need to supply an original of a PVSC to be kept on file. Returning volunteers may sign a declaration provided by Hope Story in the subsequent two years stating nothing has changed, before being required to produce another PVSC. Core Values Christ Centered Child Focused Church Led Statement of Faith We believe in one infinite God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe in Jesus Christ, the second person of the Trinity; that as the Son of God He became incarnate by the Holy Spirit, being born of the Virgin Mary; that He truly rose from the dead, ascended into heaven, and is now there engaged in intercession for us at the right hand of the Father.
